Current Volunteer Positions

EMCN has an ongoing need for volunteers. 

Please take a look at the list of current opportunities, below.  If you are interested in helping in an area that is not currently looking for volunteers, keep checking back, as new opportunities frequently become available.

Volunteering Opportunities

A. Mentorship/One-on-one tutors

  • Tutor for LINC 4 student, Tuesday/Thursday from 11:00-12:00 noon
  • Mentor, needed help to get Learners licence
  • English Tutor, once or twice per week
  • Writing and Grammar tutor/s
  • Volunter Support for Balwin Summer Camp, July 3 to 26

B. Administrative

  • Resource Room Volunteer (helping clients apply for on-line jobs, faxing, job search and data entry), 8914-118 Avenue; Wednesday, Thursday or Friday at 10:00-2:00 P.M. 
  • Teacher Administrative Volunteer (support on call projects such as laminating), flexible hours

C. Teaching Assistant/Teacher

  •   ESL Teaching Assistant for low level Seniors, 10324-107 Avenue; Monday and Wednesday from 9:00-11:30 A.M. 
  • Teacher Assistant for Literacy level class, any days from Monday to Friday at 1:00-3:30 P.M.
  • Teacher for adult Literacy students, two mornings per week at 9:30-11:30

D. Others

  • MCC Thrift Shop (sorter, pricer, cashier), 15311 Stony Plain Road
  • Sewing Machine Instructor (teach basic lessons to adult learners), every Wednesday 9:30-11:30 (flexible)
  • Assistant for one day lake outing, July 16, 2012
