ETIP Program History

Launched in 1997, the ETIP was developed to meet the specific needs of internationally educated engineers and assist them in re-establishing themselves and pursuing employment in their fields of expertise.

The Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers (EMCN), along with its partners, the The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) offers a ten-month comprehensive and practical training program.

Program graduates become Technologists in Training and are eligibile for full membership as Certified Engineering Technologists (CET’s) after one year of employment.
