ETIP: Who Can Participate?

Are you an internationally educated engineer?

The ETIP program will help you to:

  • Develop English language skills in the areas of technical communication, presentation skills, and technical writing
  • Increase technical knowledge and familiarize yourself with Canadian standards and workplace environments through up-to-date technical training at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT)
  • Improve computer skills and learn to use up-to-date technical design tools such as AutoCAD
  • Learn about current Canadian workplace norms and expectations; how to fit into an organization's workplace culture
  • Familiarize yourself with current Canadian labour market trends and learn how to use available resources to conduct a successful job search
  • Increase self-confidence in networking, marketing yourself, and contacting employers
  • Obtain Technologist in Training membership in ASET (The Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists) leading to full certification (C.E.T. - Certified Engineering Technologist) after one year of Canadian work experience
