Employment Readiness Workshops

Are you an immigrant who is looking for a good job?
   Do you want to change jobs or come back to your profession?
      Do you want to find a new job and don't know where to start? 

EMCN's Employment Readiness Workshops can help you!

Employment Readiness Workshops help newcomers find and keep jobs. The workshops are specially created for immigrant job seekers in Alberta, with topics including:

  • Self-Assessment
  • Career Research
  • Goal Setting
  • Resumes and Cover Letters
  • Hidden Job Market
  • Workplace Culture and Communication
  • Interview Skills
  •  Labour Market Information

Ongoing job search coaching and employer liaison assistance follows the four day work shop provided by qualified career practitioners and employer liaisons.

Workshops are offered free to landed immigrants.

EMCN's exposure courses can provide you with the essential skills needed to reach short-term career goals needed for immediate employment. Available courses include:

  • Child Care First Aid and CPR Level C
  • Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
  • Breathe for Life: Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
  • Fork Lift Training
  • H2S Alive
  • Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS)
