Services and support for temporary foreign workers and their families
Welcome!
Services are available to help Temporary Foreign Workers adapt to living and working in Canada. EMCN counsellors can provide the following services:
- Information and referrals
- Supportive counseling
- Information and orientation workshops e.g. Rights and Responsibilities, Landlord and Tenant Issues
- Collaborative support services to temporary workers and employers
- Settlement and integration supports including;
- assistance with issues regarding basic services (healthcare, housing, transportation, adult learning opportunities, etc.)
- assistance/advocacy with government forms & offices
- help with translation/interpretation needs
- support to communities providing assistance to temporary foreign workers
Temporary Foreign Worker Conversation Class (The availability of this class is to be announced at a later date.)
The Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers hosts a free conversation class for Temporary Foreign Workers. This is an informal weekly class for intermediate English speakers to practice conversational English and improve confidence. The class takes place at EMCN on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 in room 3-3.

Time: 7:00-8:30

The Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers provides a general English class, which covers reading, writing, listening, speaking, and vocabulary development.
Date: January 9 to March 19, 2012
Day: Monday & Wednesday
Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Where: Chinese Vietnamese Mennonite Church, 10324-107 Avenue
Cost: $200.00
