Settlement Services

Welcome!

EMCN facilitates work with immigrant communities, families, schools, and organizations to help them meet, communicate, identify priorities, plan, and take action to achieve desired outcomes.

These community development principles guide a lot of EMCN's work, in areas such as Families and Youth, Community Development and Health and Wellness.

In the area of Families and Youth, EMCN works with parents groups, community leaders and cultural liaisons to foster healthy growth of children, youth and families.

In Community Development and Community Economic Development, EMCN supports ethno-cultural community groups in developing their own programs through planning, training, and building partnerships with other communities.

In the area of Health and Wellness, EMCN works with community members to increase newcomers access to health services. This is done though assisting in health projects, educating mainstream communities, and providing on-site psychological counseling services.

EMCN supports refugee residents in specialized housing. The housing is offered in conjunction with the services and supports of a tenants counselor, a youth worker, community liaison/support workers, and psychologists.
